Ronald Thimothee

CINS/FINS Senior Case Manager

Ronald Thimothee was born in Haiti into a family that had a long tradition of services in Education and Justice. He initially seemed destined for a career in serving children and their families.

After obtaining his high school diploma in 1981, Ronald attended a dual enrollment (DE) programs that allowed him to go to a college of education and the law school in Port au Prince, Haiti. Ronald holds his first bachelor’s degree in law and education in 1985.

In the year 1986, Ronald was appointed high school teacher in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Four years later, in 1990, he was elected Judge at the Juvenile Courthouse of Petion-Ville, Haiti. His function was to educate as a teacher, and, as a judge, to prevent and eliminate child abuse, neglect, and juvenile delinquency.

In 1993, Ronald attended “College National de la Magistrature de Paris, France”. He holds his second bachelor’s degree from that college in 1997. The same year 1997, Ronald returned to his home country, and, in 2004, he immigrated to the United States to join his family.

Ronald attended Florida Atlantic University in 2004, and graduated in May of 2008, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice degree. In June of 2008, he attended CJC- Criminal Justice located in Palm Beach State College, and, after 7 months, in December of 2009, he graduated as a Corrections Officer. Destined for a career in serving children and their families, he decided to resign from his position of Corrections Officer at Glades Correctional Institution in July of 2010 to join Friends of Children. Since then to date, he is working as a CINS/FINS counselor.

Currently, Ronald is one of the CINS/FINS counselors at Prevention Central, formerly named Mount Bethel Human Services. He dedicated his life to help families who are struggling with unruly, truant, addict, ungovernable, or runaway teens or pre-teens. He offers them counseling, support, guidance, and connections to local resources in order to prevent juvenile delinquency.
